World Environment Day (5 June)
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage people to take positive actions for a cleaner and greener planet. It was established by the United Nations in 1972 and is observed worldwide.
The day reminds us of our responsibility to protect natural resources, reduce pollution, conserve water, plant trees, and promote sustainable living. Schools, organizations, and communities celebrate the occasion through tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns, awareness rallies, poster-making competitions, and environmental education programs.
At Army Goodwill School Dawar, World Environment Day provides an opportunity for students to learn the importance of preserving nature and contributing towards a healthy and sustainable future.
